Vani - Saptashrungi Devi
 
 

Vani - Saptashrungi Devi is one of the Shaktipeeth of Devi. It is situated at around 70 kms from Nashik in Nanduri village. As you approach the temple a large rocky hill greets you. This is Saptashringi Hill in the Saatmala - Ajintha hill range. According to legend, the goddess Saptashrungi Nivasini dwells within the seven mountain peaks. (sapta means seven and shrung means peaks) That is why she gets the name Saptrashrungi. The goddess is known to have possessed 18 weapons in 18 hands and is positioned ready to fight the demons. There are 510 steps to climb to reach the temple. Also now Funicular Trolley operating between base and temple is installed.
