Nashik is an ancient holy city in the Maharashtra. Situated on the banks of river Godavari. Nashik is known for its links to the Ramayana. Rama, Laxman, Sita stayed here in Panchavati during exile ( vanvas ) . Nashik is famous for the ancient temples on the banks of the Godavari and Sinhastha Kumbh Mela. It is one of the four cities that hosts the massive Sinhastha Kumbh Mela once every twelve years.
