Ellora Caves Ellora is an archaeological site, 30 km from Aurangabad. It is one of the largest rock-cut monastery - temple cave complexes in the world. The Ellora monuments were built during 600–1000 CE period in Rashtrakuta and Yadava dynasties. Featuring Hindu, Buddhist and Jain monuments and artwork, they were built close to one another and illustrate the religious harmony that existed in ancient India.
Ajanta Caves The Ajanta Caves are Buddhist cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 CE The caves include paintings and rock-cut sculptures. These are finest surviving examples of ancient Indian art, particularly expressive paintings that present emotions through gesture, pose and form.
Ghrishneshwar Temple Ghrishneshwar temple is an important Shaiva temple, considered as the last or twelfth Jyotirlinga. Ghrushneshwar is adjacent to Ellora Caves, just 30 km away from Aurangabad. Daulatabad Fort Daulatabad Fort, also known Deogiri is a historical fortified fortress. The fort was built in the 11th century CE by King Bhillama V, a Yadava ruler. Deogiri was the capital of the Yadava dynasty. Daulatabad was one of the most powerful forts of the medieval Deccan. Even after hundreds of years of its construction, this giant hill fort is standing as a symbol of strength and power. It is 20 km from Aurangabad.
